Embassy Logistic Terms: Cross-docking

This is the transhipment of goods at various points in the delivery chain. The term cross-docking relates to the physical receipt of goods and their immediate transit to the next phase in the delivery chain, without interim storage. For example cargo that is directly loaded/discharged out of the container into the truck (or vice versa) to be shipped to the final destination.
