Embassy Logistic Terms: CEE

A number of countries in Africa, among which Guinee-Bissau require a waiver document for all import shipments. For example, a CEE or Certificado Eletronico de Embarque is required for all shipments going to Guinee-Bissau. This way the authorities in Guinee-Bissau have access to all information in the “pre-arrival phase”.

The information contained in the waiver document, is as follows; Shipper and consignee names, mode of transport, description of the cargo and its value, name of the transport vessel and the cost of shipment. The authorities in the country of destination must be in possession of the waiver document prior to arrival of the vessel.

Each country has their own regulations for waiver documentation and in fact, some countries have a different name for the document.

The port of Guinee Bissau is called Bissau.
