Out of Gauge
Embassy Logistic Terms: OOG
Out of Gauge (OOG) is a term we use to describe cargo of which the dimensions exceed the measurements of containers. An item can be too long, too high, too wide, or a combination of these properties.
There are special containers to accommodate cargo which is too high, known as Open Top containers.
For cargo which is either too wide or too long, you may be able to use a Flat Rack container. As these containers with the OOG cargo take up more space on a ship, carriers charge you for all slots they take up on board.
After all, wherever goods protrude, no other containers can be loaded.
